After breakfast at 6:30 am, we set out for a full day of game drives, with a packed picnic lunch as we explore this world-renowned reserve. Masai Mara is Kenya’s premier wildlife sanctuary, home to over 450 species of animals, including both residents and migrants. The plains are teeming with migrating wildebeest and zebras, while resident wildlife such as lions, buffaloes, and Thompson’s gazelles can be seen year-round. The Mara’s fertile climate, framed by the Rift Valley, creates one of the richest and most diverse ecosystems within its 1,672 sq km area—an endless wildlife spectacle. Located 268 km west of Nairobi, the focus here is on the game, with herds of elephants grazing alongside lions, buffalos, and various other species.

After an exciting day of exploration, we’ll return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

The flamingos (both greater and lesser) and other waterbirds are a major draw, while the park is also home to about 56 species of mammals, including white rhinos and buffaloes. With nearly 450 species of terrestrial birds, the park is a birdwatcher’s paradise. After a day of exploration, we’ll return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
